Word of mouth (WOM) can help you gain real fans and loyal customers. We say it so often, word of mouth is the most effective form of marketing. It is more effective than any social media. If your customers tell one person about your service at a time, imagine what that can mean for your business.

Good word of mouth creates hype around your business. Consumers trust their friends. Because of this, word of mouth is the most valuable marketing source. You can have a large number of followers on social media, but you need to connect with those followers to get any tangible benefit. Fantastic customer service is another way to generate WOM. Remember that the goal of an appointment is to get your customers to share their experience. Put yourself in the customer's shoes and think about what would make them recommend their experience at your beauty shop.

Top tip – you need to use social media effectively to drive WOM marketing. You have to be active and committed. This means providing valuable information, responding to comments and questions, and even sharing UGC with your customers.

The more connected you are with your followers, the more likely they are to become true fans and supporters. And what do real fans usually do? They share your brand with others and increase word of mouth in new markets you might not have reached otherwise.

Another important tip for promoting word of mouth is that emotional attachments are one of the most important factors. When people believe in a company or service, they are unlikely to give up, even if there is an easier alternative.

People are also more responsive to emotions. Whether it's something happy, sad, funny or something else, they instinctively want to share it with others. So if you can create experiences that trigger positive emotions, your word of mouth efforts can go a long way. Social media is a great tool for promoting word of mouth. If your customers have had a positive experience, they will most likely recommend it to a friend or family member, and most of the time this is done through social media.
